Teaching and Lead Pastor Mike Thomas

Pastor Mike and his family are from Covington, Ga. He attends Luther Rice University equipping himself for the ministry God has called him too. Pastor Mike became a born again believer in 2001 and surrendered to the call to preach in 2002. Pastor Mike has been serving the Lord faithfully since his conversion. His passion for evangelism is clearly seen through the Newton County Detention Ministry which he has been active in since early 2004 and ministering inside Rockdale County Board of Education in leading Bible Studies, devotionals and prayer. His passion to lead individuals to grow in their faith and reach others with the gospel. That heart for people also drives his love for missions, both international and local.

Philosophy of Ministry:

*Equip Believers

Ephesians 4:11-16(HCSB)

11 And He personally gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, 12 for the training of the saints in the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ,  13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of God’s Son,  growing into a mature man with a stature  measured by Christ’s fullness. 14 Then we will no longer be little children, tossed by the waves and blown around by every wind of teaching,  by human cunning with cleverness in the techniques of deceit. 15 But speaking the truth in love, let us grow in every way into Him who is the head —Christ. 16 From Him the whole body, fitted and knit together  by every supporting ligament, promotes the growth  of the body for building up itself in love by the proper working of each individual part.

*Preach and Teach God's Word

Acts 6:4 (HCSB)

4 But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the preaching ministry.

Colossians 4:17 (HCSB)

17 And tell Archippus,  “Pay attention to the ministry you have received in the Lord, so that you can accomplish it.”

"To this day, the call of God upon my life burns within me. I cannot imagine myself not serving Him in ministry. My passion is pastoring the people of God, leading them into a deeper relationship with Him and seeing others come to know Him. I love Jesus, and I love serving alongside people who love Him also. I love the local church, and count it the highest honor to be a servant of the church."
